A centre for activities and events for the Peasedown St John community

The Hive Project’s aims are threefold.

To provide open access youth work and activities for young people in Peasedown St John

To become a community space with a cafe, providing support and services for local residents

To hire out rooms and sports facilities for meetings, sporting and creative activities

The Hive Community Centre is open for activities that are allowed under pandemic restrictions. As we follow the roadmap out of the pandemic we will let you know more about what is happening at The Hive.

Already the Community Library is open on Mondays from 12.00 - 14.00 and on Saturdays from 10.00 - 12.00

SWALLOW cafe is open for a take away service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 08.45 - 15.30. Paninis, sandwiches, pizza, kid’s lunch boxes and drinks are available. Call to place an order on 07834 598288 and to arrange a contactless collection. When restrictions are lifted further Swallow will offer an indoor cafe service.

The Hive has a sports hall large enough for a badminton court, and an outside hard surface sports court which is floodlit. It has a large art room with plenty of cupboard storage and two large Belfast sinks. There is a large meeting room that can be set up for formal or informal gatherings and is also suitable for children’s parties. The two small meeting rooms, one set up with soft seating and one set up with table and chairs are also available for hire. It is planned that Youth Work will start at The Hive after the Easter holidays. Watch this space for further details
